Moreland Park is home to the first Storybook Walk in Owensboro. Located at the corner of 12th Street and Moreland Avenue.
The Storybook Walk, installed in the fall of 2019, is a series of upright sign holders placed along the walking trail that display a storybook.
The Storybook Walk is meant to encourage reading and physical activity to our youth. Stories are changed three to four times a year by Library staff.
The Storybook Walk is a project driven by the Owensboro Daviess County Public Library staff and board and funded by a Owensboro Health Community Benefit Grant.
Owensboro Parks & Recreation works hard to build strong community relationships and strives to stay connected to multiple groups and organizations. That work pays off in our partnership, and this is another great example of public/private partnership growing amenities for citizens in our community.
