BASIC PICKLEBALL RULES

Two teams of 1 or 2 players each.

Serve the ball underhand and form behind the baseline, the serve and return of serve must bounce in the diagonal opposite back section of the court before being returned.

No volleys are allowed off the serve or return of serve.  After the serve, volleys are allowed, except from within the non-volley zone closest to the net.

Points are scored by the serving team only.  The serve changes after any fault by the serving team.

Faults are:

  • A serve out of bounds, into the net or into the non-volley zone
  • A hit into the net or out of bounds
  • A volley from within the non-volley zone
  • A double bounce

Scoring is one point per fault when you have the serve, the first team to 11 points, with a two point lead wins the game.

  • Observe proper etiquette.
  • No unauthorized paid athletic services permitted.
  • If courts are full and there are players waiting, please limit play to one game to 11 points and then rotate. We encourage doubles play when players are waiting.
  • All players must have fun!

Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
