Adkisson Greenbelt Park
The 15-mile long Adkisson Greenbelt Park is designed to encircle the city linking neighborhoods, business districts, parks, and schools. The trails that make up the Greenbelt Park offer a 10-foot wide asphalt surface that will easily accommodate pedestrians and bicyclists and meets the American with Disabilities Act standards. -
Cap Gardner Park
Cap Gardner Park is a special use park located at 238 East 20th Street. Acquired in 1977 it has 1.6 acres and exhibits a wide assortment of trees, shrubs, and flowers. Because of its beautiful plants and trees, it is often used for weddings and outdoor photography sessions. Cap Gardner Park is the former Nature Park and was rededicated October 4, 2005. -
Chautauqua Park
Chautauqua Park is a 31 acre community park acquired in 1916 located just off East Parrish Avenue at 1201 Bluff Avenue. Chautauqua Park is home to Combest Pool, an olympic sized swimming pool with diving, was built in 1973 and named after Willis Combest who befriended 2 generations of athletes in Owensboro. -
Dugan Best Park
Dugan Best Park is a neighborhood park named in honor of the late Mayor Dugan Best. -
English Park
Located on the beautiful Ohio River, this 16 acre park was established in 1977. This former home of the Ohio River Lock & Dam Number 46, was named after Peter B. English, who was lockmaster for 16 years. -
Heartland Park
A 0.4 acre neighborhood park established in 1997 at East Byers and Heartland Park. -
Jack C. Fisher Park
Fisher Park is a 33 acre community park located at 3900 West Fifth Street Road acquired in 1985. Within the park is the Owensboro Softball Complex, a first-class complex in the state of Kentucky. -
Kendall-Perkins Park
Kendall-Perkins Park is a 2 acre neighborhood park acquired n 1975 and located at 1201 West 5th Street. In 1973, the park was given the name kendall-Perkins in memory of Joseph W. Kendall and Joseph P. Perkins, two citizens fo Owensboro who gave years of selfless, tireless devotion to the neighborhood and children who lived in the area. -
Legion Park
Voted "Best Place for a Family Outing!" The 2 screened picnic shelters in the park must be reserved by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 270-687-8700. The shelters have ceiling fans, electrical outlets, and are well lit. Patrons are permitted to bring grills to the park. Grills cannot be taken into the shelter or set up on the concrete just outside the shelter. -
Moneta Sleet Jr. Park
Max Rhoads Park is a neighborhood park comprising 1.21 acres located at Seventh & Walnut Streets acquired in 1976. -
Moreland Park
Moreland Park is a 17 acre community park located on West Parrish Avenue acquired in 1930. It is separated by Hickman Avenue from the Sportscenter and the Edge Ice Arena. The screened shelter can be reserved by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 270-687-8700. All shelter reservations must be made at least 2 weeks in advance. There is a $25 fee to reserve the shelter at Moreland. -
Old Germantown Park
A 2 acre neighborhood park established in 2007 located at 824 Crittenden Street. -
Smothers Park
The park features 3 signature fountains with a show every 15 minutes and a cascading waterfall. -
Thompson-Berry Park
Thompson-Berry Park is a 38.5 acre community park located on Raven Drive off US 60 West. It was acquired in 1973. The main entrance is located at 1 Carter Road. The Thompson-Berry Soccer Complex has 11 fields and a concession/restroom building. The complex is home to the Owensboro United Soccer Club and Academy. -
Waymond Morris Park
Waymond Morris Park is a 52 acre park located at 5200 Todd Bridge Road. The first phase is complete and includes a 7 acre lake, a 1 1/2 mile walking trail, a four field football (lighted) complex, a centralized concession and restoom building, and a 290-car parking lot. -
Yewell Heritage Park
A 44 acre park established in 1995 located in Brookhill subdivision at Haywood Ct. -
York Park
York Park is a 5 acre neighborhood park located on the north side of York Drive. It was acquired in 1949. -
Edge Ice Center
The Edge Ice Center is the only municipal ice arena in Kentucky. It is open year round and offers public skating, lessons, skate rental and sharpening, and a full concession and pro shop. Birthday parties and private rentals are available to groups and individuals. -
